Review: Etude House AC Clinic Red Spot Balm + whitening

Mood:

Etude House AC Clinic Red Spot Balm + whitening (20ml)
Description: Formulated with Madecassoside(skin healing agent), Salicylic Acid and Hinoki Cypress extracts, AC Clinic Red Spot Balm heals, clarifies and soothes facial trouble spots. Specialized target treatment heals and brightens blemishes with improved texture and skin whitening formula. Non-Comedogenic & Dermatologist Tested

Directions: Apply cream directly to acne, pimples and blemishes. Allow cream to absorb into skin. Avoid excessive facial rubbing.
Targets: Troubled Skin

The Red Spot Balm Kit comes with a jar of 20ml Red Spot Balm, a tube of 5ml Pink Daily Spot(Review here - [link]) and a plastic spatula.

I have the Red Spot Balm in smaller version(5ml) which I got it from the AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot Kit. :D FYI, the container of full version is made up of sturdy glass whereas the container of small version is made up of plastic.

Consistency & Color:
The balm has a creamy balm consistency and is in white color. When I gently massaged the balm on my skin, it will turned from white to opaque and with continue massaging, it will turned to nearly colorless.

Scent:
Herby? Medicated? smell... It's bearable. It's not as strong as the Pink Powder Spot.

Likes:
- the scent
- easy to apply
- not greasy
- does not sting
- lessen the redness of pimples marks/hyperpigmentation/scars
- whitening which helps to lighten post acne marks/hyperpigmentation

Dislikes:
- leaves a layer after applying it on skin

I used this only at night because I believe our skin heals better at night while our body is at rest. :x I don't want to rub it excessively on my skin so normally I will just gently massage it on my skin and leaves a white layer to cover the marks. Therefore, I won't apply this in the morning. By the way, I do not recommend to apply this if you're going to apply make-up afterwards because this balm tends to leave a layer of balm on your skin after application.

My friend told me that besides using this as a scar treatment, she used this as a pimple treatment too and it works out great for her. However for me, it does not work out as great as how it works for my friend. :/ Well, like what I've always say, our skin react differently to different products. What is great for one person might be horrible for another. So yeah... Using this as a pimple treatment does not works for me. it does not heal my pimples... :/

On a positive side, this does helps in speeding up the process of fading post acne marks/hyperpigmentation! I have been using this for about a month and 3 weeks. I noticed my pigmentation marks have lightened a lot and some have already gone.

Rating: 5/5
I believe this jar of 20ml Red Spot Balm can last really long because you only need to apply a little on the acne marks/hyperpigmentation. If you ask me if I will repurchase, I will definitely say YES! :) I am really happy that I got this balm and I highly recommend this to people who wants to get rid of acne scars/marks/hyperpigmentation.

Review: Etude House AC Clinic Pink Daily Spot

Mood:

Etude House AC Clinic Pink Daily Spot (5ml)
Description: Formulated with Sulfer Powder(antibiotic), Salicylic acid and Hinoki Cypress extract. AC Clinic Pink Daily Spot absorbs into skin to soothe, heal and brighten blemishes during the day without powdery residue. Non-Comedogenic & Dermatologist Tested.

Directions: Apply small amount to acne irritation to soothe and alleviate.
Targets: Troubled skin

I got this smaller version of Pink Daily Spot from the AC Clinic Red Spot Balm Kit. So, here's my review~

I believe this is the morning version of Pink Powder Spot + extreme. Anyway, Pink Daily Spot can be use both on the Day & Night and I assume it's not as strong as Pink Powder Spot + extreme.

Somehow, I don't think this spot treatment helps my acne at all. Maybe this is not strong enough for me. P.S, I have really stubborn acne. :/

I prefer the Pink Powder Spot + extreme more than this because I've noticed a difference on the size of my zit after using Pink Powder Spot + extreme whereas, no result was seen after using the Pink Daily Spot. The zit developed into a pustule instead of reducing after using the Pink Daily Spot. :/ As I have said, maybe this is not strong enough for me and I need a stronger spot treatment just like the Pink Powder Spot + extreme.

Consistency & Color:
It has a runny and watery consistency and is in beige-y color(due to the powder) but when I massaged it into my skin, it turned from beige-y to nearly whit-ish to colorless. However, the area that I massaged it on looks slightly paler/whiter than my own skin tone. I think the ingredient of the powder does leaves a light white-ish layer to brighten the zits(?)

Scent:
Smell of Sulfer powder???

Likes:
- It's Non-comedogenic!

Dislikes:
- Does not help my acne problems
- Area that I applied this treatment looks slightly paler/whiter... :/

Rating: 1/5
In conclusion, I will not buy the full version of this. It might work for other people though...but definitely not for me. (=_=) For those who have stubborn and monster acnes(referring to papules and pustules) like me, I would recommend you the Pink Powder Spot + extreme instead of this. That definitely kills zits way faster because it is formulated with an "extreme" formula. :)

On a side note, our skin react differently to different products. So this doesn't mean that Pink Daily Spot will not work out great for other people. What is horrible for one person might be great for another. So best advice is to try it yourself and see if it works for you. :)

Review: Etude House Missing U, Bee Happy Hand Cream

Mood:

Etude House Missing U, Bee Happy Hand Cream 30ml
Awws, aren't they adorable?

Honestly, I don't use hand cream at all...but I still bought them anyways~~~ because they are TOO ADORABLEEEE!♥ヾ(^▽^)ノ I have an urge to collect all of them~ It comes with 4 different designs and 4 different scents.
#1. Honey Bee - (Scent of Acacia): It smells like "Tea"(green tea?) to me.
#2. Queen Bee - (Scent of Rose): Floral scent
#3. Ladybug - (Scent of Chestnut Blossom): Can't explain the smell of this...
#4. Baby Bee(Larva?) - (Scent of Citrus Baby Powder): Citrus-y baby powder scent.

Description printed on the box

Likes:
- leaves hands feeling moisturized
- absorbs easily into the skin without feeling greasy
- nice fragrance
- beautiful and cute packaging
- small & handy

Dislikes:
- Contains 30ml of cream only... not very much...(-.-)
- It's quite unhygienic to dip my fingers into the pot to get the cream. :/
- It's hard to get the cream out. It's consistency is thicker(like a "balm") than the first 'Missing U!' product line...
Comparing the size with an Apple Ipod Classic

I personally like all the four designs Etude House have for this line but when it comes to fragrance, I like the Queen Bee most, followed by the Honey Bee, LadyBug and Baby Bee. :) I'm not a hand cream person but since I've already bought the hand creams, to prevent spoilage and wastage, I added them into my daily routine. I use them every single night before heading to bed and I carry the Honey Bee in my bag wherever I go so I can keep my hands hydrated by applying the cream whenever they feel dry. :)

These hand creams are a good gift choice~! Last Christmas, I gave the LadyBug as a gift for my mom and I gave the Honey Bee as a gift during one of the X'mas exchange gift session held by my ex-school classmates/friends. Months later, I went back to the store and bought the Queen Bee. Just recently, I bought another Honey Bee(shown in the picture) for myself and another Queen Bee as a gift for my aunt. :D

Are you looking for a simple hand moisturizer or a gift for your friends or love ones? This is it! It's moisturizes well in addition, it's small, handy and adorable! Besides that, once you finished the cream, you can re-use the container to store other cream/lotion or whatever small items that you can fit it into the container. Also, you can use it as an ornament for your room! Heh~(・ω・)

Review: Skinfood Tomato Whitening Spot Serum

Mood:

Skinfood Tomato Whitening Spot Serum 30g
Description: This spot serum is packed with fresh tomato extracts which contains a variety of natural organic acids, vitamins and minerals to clear and clarify dark skins.
Direction for use: Gently apply to dark spots and skin discolorations after using toner.

Since the direction printed at the back of the tube says apply this 'after using toner', I assume it's only for facial use...(?) But who cares, I used it on my arm too. Lol. Actually, I bought this for my post acne hyperpigmentation...but after I bought the AC Clinic Red Spot Balm, I stopped applying this on my face. FYI, this does not cause any breakout on me. I replaced it with Red Spot Balm because I am using other AC Clinic products and I want to stick to the same skincare line.

If you read my blog consistently(and I thank you for being interested in my 'craps'), you probably know that I had a gross infection[link] on my left arm in last November which leaves patches of f.ugly pigmentation scars on my arm after healing. :(
(Before) Taken back in 3rd week of December 2011.

So after my infection was completely healed, I apply the Skinfood Tomato Serum to the scars. Hoping that it would helps speed up the lightening process... Having marks on arm aren't cool okay especially when I'm wearing sleeveless or short sleeve outfit! :(

I have been applying this every single night before bed. I don't apply this in the morning due to laziness. In addition, I believe our skin heals better at night while our body is at rest. Do take note that this serum takes months to notice a major improvement. You can actually see a little improvement after about 2 weeks to a month of application.

So, it has been about 3½ months I applied this serum and currently, I am still using this serum every night without fail. And yes!, my effort on applying this every night and waiting for miracle(to see result) has paid off.

The same scars that were left from previous infection have lightened a lot!
(AFTER)
.
.
.
(FYI, I only used Photoshop to resize the photo and create that "watermark"(laughs). No further editing of picture. The only difference is the time taken which affects the lighting. Previous picture taken in the day without flash while this was taken last night without flash too. Both pictures were taken with Iphone's camera.) In real life, the scars actually looks slightly lighter than what's shown in the picture... :/

Okay so, I believe you can spot the difference in the color of my pigmentation scars. The color of scars were dramatically reduced. As you can see, it's not completely gone though...but I believe with continue application, the scars will soon be gone forever. :)

By the way, this serum has a mild and nice fragrance(smells like a cream~) which I really like it. After applying it on the skin, it will get absorbed and leaves a really light-tacky feeling to the touch. The serum itself is in white liquid(?) form but after massaging it into the skin, it will become colorless. Apply a little works wonder~ I always apply a lot and it does not cause any side effect. Overall, yes I like it and I already got a second tube the other day. :D

The only downside is the duration it takes to see improvement but well...whatever scars, no matter whether it is exterior or interior, take time to heal.

Are you having pigmentation scars/marks on your skin? Probably you might want to try this and see if it works for you. :)

2012 January-March Favorites

Mood:

Finally...I got back my Macbook Pro from the service center. So here I am updating my blog. :)

I have quite a number of stuff I want to update about... I will post it one by one. As for today, I will continue my "monthly favorites" write-up. It's been awhile since I last do a "favorites" post. The last one I wrote was on November 2011..... Taking a shortcut~, I will skipped December favorites since I don't really have any favorites on that month. Moreover, I don't want to cling on to anything related to Year 2011. It's a past. That being said, I will just start from the new year 2012 "January - March favorites". Yeah, I will just compile 3-months favorites together in 1 post. (・ω・)

♥------- January - March Favorites -------♥

Etude House AC Clinic Line
- AC Clinic Foam Cleanser: cleanse well without aggravating acne
- AC Clinic Toner  (strike-out): somehow it's too drying for me :/
- AC Clinic Gel Lotion: lightweight moisturizer
- AC Clinic Red Spot Balm: lighten post acne hyperpigmentation!
- AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot: kills pimple effectively!

I remember I did a review[link] on the Cleanser and Pink Powder Spot. FYI, I am currently still using both the cleanser and Pink Powder Spot. In fact, I added in other products from the AC Clinic line. They are my HOLY GRAIL items! :D Will do a proper review on this line in the future.

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner (Toner)
Description on the box: This product is a total solution for pore care, preventing enlarged pores, less firmer skin and skin troubles by eliminating what hurts skin health from within.
I mentioned about this in my "2012 February Haul" [link]~ I replaced the AC Clinic toner with this because this is less drying as compared to the AC Clinic toner. It's more moisturizing than drying~ Loving the pump dispenser!♥

The Face Shop Blackhead EX Charcoal Pore Strip
Another HOLY GRAIL product~ Best & effective Pore Strip I ever used in my entire life. Check out my review here - [link]

Skinfood Tomato Whitening Spot Serum
I used this serum to lighten the pigmentation scars on my left arm which I got it from previous gross infection[link]. It does helps to lighten pigmentation scars however it takes time to notice the improvement. Read my review here - [link]

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask
I used this once a week to deep cleanse my pores. Love this mask~ Review here - [link]

That's all my favorites for the past 2 months and ½ of this month(?). \m/
